THEORY TEST

The theory test is made up of 2 parts. The first part is the multiple choice element. Out of 50 randomly chosen questions you need to answer 43 of them correctly to pass. To prepare for this part we recommend you study "The Official Theory Test" book which can be bought from WHSmith or other book shops. We also sell the complete theory test preparation CD's at our office @£9.99 each. The second part of the theory test is the hazard perception element. This is where you watch video clips from a drivers view. You need to click when you see hazards developing throughout the video clip. You need to score at least 44 points out of a possible 75 to pass.

We find that, on average, 9 out of 10 people pass the theory test after taking our theory lessons. And remember, as long as you are taking regular driving lessons with one of our instructors, its free!

THEORY TEST EXAMPLE QUESTIONS
To give an idea of he type of questions asked in the Theory Test, we have included 4 questions so that you can test your knowledge.

1) You may only enter a box junction when:

the traffic lights show green

your exit road is clear

there are less than two vehicles in front of you

you need to turn left

2) Motor cars must first have an MOT certificate when they are:

seven years old

five years old

three years old

one year old

3) When joining a motorway you must:

come to a stop before joining the motorway

use the hard shoulder

give way to traffic already on the motorway

stop at the end of the acceleration lane

4) What does the term blind spot mean for a driver:

an area not covered by your headlights

an area not covered by your right hand mirror

an area not covered by your left hand mirror

an area not covered by your mirrors
