WE ARE ORDIT REGISTERED

When ringing around other companies, make sure that your entire instructor training is going to be done on a one-to-one basis and not with 2 or 3 other trainees in the car at the same time. We offer one-to-one tuition only and do not teach 2 or more trainees at the same time. This means you get full value for money as well as proper, effective instruction.

HOW TO BECOME A DRIVING INSTRUCTOR

There are three exams to pass. The first is a theory test that comes in the form of 100 questions and a Hazard Perception Test. The pass mark is 85% for the questions and is a multiple choice computerised test. The pass mark for the Hazard Perception Test is 57 marks out of a possible 75.

Second is the driving test. This consists of a one hour test in which the candidate must show a much higher standard of driving than the average motorist. It will include manoeuvres and motorway driving.

Third, is teaching ability. Instructors must be able to explain every detail of driving to their pupils. This must be done in a kind and patient way, so that the pupil is put at ease and feels comfortable.

All of this requires training which is what we do. We will take you through each stage one step at a time until you are a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor, (ADI). Once you have achieved this registration, the sky is the limit. You can determine your own future by being your own boss.

HOW IT'S DONE
The training is done in three distinct phases so the cost can be spread over the training period.

The first is the Theory. We provide all the books required to pass as well theory test tuition. This includes hazard perception training and a mock test for the multiple choice questions. The theory fee @ £80.00 is also included in the price for this part which is £250.00.

The second part is the Driving Ability. This costs £637.00 and includes 20 hours tuition as well as the part 2 test fee @ £99.00 plus the car for the day of test. We also offer pay-as-you-go training @ £25.00 per hour. This is strictly on a one-to-one basis.

The third and final part is the Teaching Ability. Unfortunately 40 hours tuition is required before a PDI certificate is issued (allowing you to teach). Therefore this part of the course must be paid as the tuition is given. It can be paid in one payment or in increments of £288.00 as the training progresses. Alternatively, pay-as-you-go training can be arranged. The full cost of this part is £1,152.00 which includes the part 3 test fee @ £99.00 as well as the car for day of the test.

The full cost of the course is likely to be £2,040.00. What you see above is what you get – there are no hidden extras. We recommend you speak to one of our instructor trainers before starting the course to get help and advice. To arrange a free interview ring us on 020 7474 9222.

We also offer pay-as-you-go training @ £25.00 per hour for those who have already completed part 1 and need training for parts 2 / 3.

DO I QUALIFY FOR ANY FINANCIAL HELP?
Financial help is available through your local Job Centre. You can qualify for part, or the full cost of the cost if you have been unemployed for more than 6 months. Ask the local officer for assistance in the matter of financial help for new business start ups. There are also 'no interest' loans available.

Should you not qualify for any of the above, any monies that you do spend are fully tax deductible. This will make your first year virtually tax free. However, even if you do pay the whole cost yourself, you will have a job that brings both satisfaction and a good financial reward.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED?
To qualify to be a Driving Instructor you must hold a full UK driving licence. You must have held the licence for the last 4 years and it should be free of penalty points. If you do have points on your licence still give us a call as it does not necessarily exclude you from making an application. Others in the past have had applications accepted even though they have had penalty points.

You should have a friendly nature and be able to get on with all sorts of people. You should also be a person of good character. If you have had a conviction for a petty offence in the past that will not exclude you provided that the conviction is "spent".

So what are you waiting for? Ring 020 7474 9222 now!
